Bus driver is cited for failure to yield

An Edmond bus driver as cited for failure to yield Friday after a car collided with the empty bus when it was turning, police say.
The car’s driver, Joyce Rice, was taken to Mercy Health Center. Her injuries were not life threatening, according to police.
Reginald Trevino, who started driving for Edmond schools in August, was not injured in the accident on Pennsylvania and NW 164. Trevino was on his way to pick up some Charles Haskell Elementary students for a field trip.
Scott Lane, Edmond schools transportation director, said the district will investigate internally before determining if any other action is necessary.
